We know you have a choice in support provider, and we're grateful that you are considering us to provide the care you need. To make it easier for you to choose, here are some unique aspects that we think make us different from the rest.Experienced care from a broad support network Our core management team have a combined ten years plus of experience in the disability sector, specialising in support coordination and advocacy, plus formal training in social development. All of which means building strong relationships with you are at the forefront of everything we do. With more than 60 carers and staff members bringing their understanding and knowledge to Para Ability Community Care, we have a wide range of skills and experience and provide individualised support to everyone in our care. We connect you with a dedicated case manager who will work closely with you and become a trusted support. We prioritise fostering valuable connections wherever possible, so we strive to keep the same carers working with you. Regular shift scheduling is encouraged to allow you to get to know your support staff, meaning you have the opportunity to form strong bonds and essential beneficial relationships. A newly purpose-built day facility Recognising a lack of facilities for people living with a disability in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, we decided in 2021 to create a facility that would accommodate our people's many needs and requirements. The location at Modbury was an aged care facility that had fallen into disrepair. We designed, rebuilt and created a facility specifically to provide a comfortable space giving residents as much of a home-like experience as possible. The resulting centre is one where the community can gather comfortably, socialise, find common interests, and participate in engaging activities. The centre is fully staffed every weekday from 9-5 pm and features entertaining NDIS programs daily for people ages 7-17. We love witnessing the development of skills enjoyed by the people who participate in our programs. The rights of our clients are at the heart of all that we do and everything we provide. Sonali Jassal, Management team Wide choice of accommodation options We have residential care houses in the greater community with short-term, medium-term and long-term options. Our hub in Modbury, being purpose-built, means we have designed them to exceed modern standards and incorporate universal access facilities, specially designed ensuites and assistive technology to facilitate easy movement and comfort. We've taken into consideration different sensory and cognitive needs and are pleased to be able to incorporate lighting design and contextual cues to make the spaces widely accessible. Empowered development through social and community involvement Alongside our day facility, we offer a wide range of options to enhance the lives of the people we work with. Social support is a vital part of the services we provide, and our teams' combined breadth of experience means we have designed programs specifically with you in mind. In addition to our purpose-built day centre, we offer day trips to exciting locations like Monarto Safari Park, Victor Harbor, and the Adelaide Zoo. Our tours occur in a supported environment, providing opportunities for shared experiences and enjoyment. Our very own nature-based overnight camping experience at Cudlee Creek The Cudlee Creek nature-based experience is close enough to Adelaide to be visited as a day trip or can extend into an overnight experience creating a unique and exciting evening of freedom and adventure. Featuring a cottage and land in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, there are opportunities for fresh air on walking trails, kangaroo or koala-spotting, or just relaxing under a tree or by the campfire.
